The only novena officially sanctioned by the Church because Jesus instructed the apostles to Jerusalem to await the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. It is a beautiful prayer and you can find and print the entire text at EWTN http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/pentecost/seven_tx.htm (can't get the link button to work on the ipad)
I've really made a dedicated effort this year to be more disinterested in my prayer. Not in that I don't care, but that the prayer I make is not for me. That the Blessed Mother will take my prayer and make it beautiful and present it to God and He'll do what He wishes to do. It's not easy to do this. My relationship with the Blessed Mother isn't all that great. That's my fault. I neglect her way too much. My hope is to come to love her as Jesus did. Aim high! Right?
Along with daily prayer I 've started back on the treadmill. I am walking 3 miles a day and I'm glad I have worked on this discipline.
I'm 22 weeks now, so getting up earlier does make me more tired during the day. I have to start at 5 am while El Bambino is still sleeping.
The physical exercise and the spiritual exercise are complimentary.
If you've never done a novena before I encourage you to begin with this one. Start today!
If you've not exercised physically in a while, take a walk. It does for your body what prayer does for your soul.</blockquote>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12815449256742930541noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038207951426384277.post-880730616023569132012-05-09T11:49:00.000-07:002012-05-09T11:49:41.544-07:00Ugh on the New Blogger!I just realized my last blog post was turned into one giant paragraph!

Lewis. A great story about spiritual warfare. In one of the letters Uncle Screwtape reminds newphew wormwood not to worry about his patient's prayer, but to focus on his posture during prayer. Ensure the patients posture during prayer is irreverant, therefore rendering his prayers null.
This got me thinking. Is my posture during prayer reverent? Does it dispose me to reverance in prayer? Does the way I sit or stand or even lie down when I pray really matter?
I went to the Catechism. They don't say much, directly, about posture, but they do say much on prayer and they say it much better than I. It's not that long, but well worth the read.
PART FOUR
CHRISTIAN PRAYER
SECTION ONE
PRAYER IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
CHAPTER THREE
THE LIFE OF PRAYER
ARTICLE 2
THE BATTLE OF PRAYER
2725 Prayer is both a gift of grace and a determined response on our part. It always presupposes effort. The great figures of prayer of the Old Covenant before Christ, as well as the Mother of God, the saints, and he himself, all teach us this: prayer is a battle. Against whom? Against ourselves and against the wiles of the tempter who does all he can to turn man away from prayer, away from union with God. We pray as we live, because we live as we pray. If we do not want to act habitually according to the Spirit of Christ, neither can we pray habitually in his name. The "spiritual battle" of the Christian's new life is inseparable from the battle of prayer.
I. OBJECTIONS TO PRAYER
2726 In the battle of prayer, we must face in ourselves and around us erroneous notions of prayer. Some people view prayer as a simple psychological activity, others as an effort of concentration to reach a mental void. Still others reduce prayer to ritual words and postures. Many Christians unconsciously regard prayer as an occupation that is incompatible with all the other things they have to do: they "don't have the time." Those who seek God by prayer are quickly discouraged because they do not know that prayer comes also from the Holy Spirit and not from themselves alone.
2727 We must also face the fact that certain attitudes deriving from the mentality of "this present world" can penetrate our lives if we are not vigilant. For example, some would have it that only that is true which can be verified by reason and science; yet prayer is a mystery that overflows both our conscious and unconscious lives. Others overly prize production and profit; thus prayer, being unproductive, is useless. Still others exalt sensuality and comfort as the criteria of the true, the good, and the beautiful; whereas prayer, the "love of beauty" (philokalia), is caught up in the glory of the living and true God. Finally, some see prayer as a flight from the world in reaction against activism; but in fact, Christian prayer is neither an escape from reality nor a divorce from life.
2728 Finally, our battle has to confront what we experience as failure in prayer: discouragement during periods of dryness; sadness that, because we have "great possessions,"15 we have not given all to the Lord; disappointment over not being heard according to our own will; wounded pride, stiffened by the indignity that is ours as sinners; our resistance to the idea that prayer is a free and unmerited gift; and so forth. The conclusion is always the same: what good does it do to pray? To overcome these obstacles, we must battle to gain humility, trust, and perseverance.
II. HUMBLE VIGILANCE OF HEART
Facing difficulties in prayer
2729 The habitual difficulty in prayer is distraction. It can affect words and their meaning in vocal prayer; it can concern, more profoundly, him to whom we are praying, in vocal prayer (liturgical or personal), meditation, and contemplative prayer. To set about hunting down distractions would be to fall into their trap, when all that is necessary is to turn back to our heart: for a distraction reveals to us what we are attached to, and this humble awareness before the Lord should awaken our preferential love for him and lead us resolutely to offer him our heart to be purified. Therein lies the battle, the choice of which master to serve.16
2730 In positive terms, the battle against the possessive and dominating self requires vigilance, sobriety of heart. When Jesus insists on vigilance, he always relates it to himself, to his coming on the last day and every day: today. The bridegroom comes in the middle of the night; the light that must not be extinguished is that of faith: "'Come,' my heart says, 'seek his face!'"17
2731 Another difficulty, especially for those who sincerely want to pray, is dryness. Dryness belongs to contemplative prayer when the heart is separated from God, with no taste for thoughts, memories, and feelings, even spiritual ones. This is the moment of sheer faith clinging faithfully to Jesus in his agony and in his tomb. "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if dies, it bears much fruit."18 If dryness is due to the lack of roots, because the word has fallen on rocky soil, the battle requires conversion.19
Facing temptations in prayer
2732 The most common yet most hidden temptation is our lack of faith. It expresses itself less by declared incredulity than by our actual preferences. When we begin to pray, a thousand labors or cares thought to be urgent vie for priority; once again, it is the moment of truth for the heart: what is its real love? Sometimes we turn to the Lord as a last resort, but do we really believe he is? Sometimes we enlist the Lord as an ally, but our heart remains presumptuous. In each case, our lack of faith reveals that we do not yet share in the disposition of a humble heart: "Apart from me, you can do nothing."20
2733 Another temptation, to which presumption opens the gate, is acedia. The spiritual writers understand by this a form of depression due to lax ascetical practice, decreasing vigilance, carelessness of heart. "The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."21 The greater the height, the harder the fall. Painful as discouragement is, it is the reverse of presumption. The humble are not surprised by their distress; it leads them to trust more, to hold fast in constancy.
III. FILIAL TRUST
2734 Filial trust is tested - it proves itself - in tribulation.22 The principal difficulty concerns the prayer of petition, for oneself or for others in intercession. Some even stop praying because they think their petition is not heard. Here two questions should be asked: Why do we think our petition has not been heard? How is our prayer heard, how is it "efficacious"?
Why do we complain of not being heard?
2735 In the first place, we ought to be astonished by this fact: when we praise God or give him thanks for his benefits in general, we are not particularly concerned whether or not our prayer is acceptable to him. On the other hand, we demand to see the results of our petitions. What is the image of God that motivates our prayer: an instrument to be used? or the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ?
2736 Are we convinced that "we do not know how to pray as we ought"?23 Are we asking God for "what is good for us"? Our Father knows what we need before we ask him,24 but he awaits our petition because the dignity of his children lies in their freedom. We must pray, then, with his Spirit of freedom, to be able truly to know what he wants.25
2737 "You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions."26 If we ask with a divided heart, we are "adulterers";27 God cannot answer us, for he desires our well-being, our life. "Or do you suppose that it is in vain that the scripture says, 'He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us?'"28 That our God is "jealous" for us is the sign of how true his love is. If we enter into the desire of his Spirit, we shall be heard.
Do not be troubled if you do not immediately receive from God what you ask him; for he desires to do something even greater for you, while you cling to him in prayer.29
God wills that our desire should be exercised in prayer, that we may be able to receive what he is prepared to give.30
How is our prayer efficacious?
2738 The revelation of prayer in the economy of salvation teaches us that faith rests on God's action in history. Our filial trust is enkindled by his supreme act: the Passion and Resurrection of his Son. Christian prayer is cooperation with his providence, his plan of love for men.
2739 For St. Paul, this trust is bold, founded on the prayer of the Spirit in us and on the faithful love of the Father who has given us his only Son.31 Transformation of the praying heart is the first response to our petition.
2740 The prayer of Jesus makes Christian prayer an efficacious petition. He is its model, he prays in us and with us. Since the heart of the Son seeks only what pleases the Father, how could the prayer of the children of adoption be centered on the gifts rather than the Giver?
2741 Jesus also prays for us - in our place and on our behalf. All our petitions were gathered up, once for all, in his cry on the Cross and, in his Resurrection, heard by the Father. This is why he never ceases to intercede for us with the Father.32 If our prayer is resolutely united with that of Jesus, in trust and boldness as children, we obtain all that we ask in his name, even more than any particular thing: the Holy Spirit himself, who contains all gifts.
IV. PERSERVERING IN LOVE
2742 "Pray constantly . . . always and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father."33 St. Paul adds, "Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance making supplication for all the saints."34 For "we have not been commanded to work, to keep watch and to fast constantly, but it has been laid down that we are to pray without ceasing."35 This tireless fervor can come only from love. Against our dullness and laziness, the battle of prayer is that of humble, trusting, and persevering love. This love opens our hearts to three enlightening and life-giving facts of faith about prayer.
2743 It is always possible to pray: The time of the Christian is that of the risen Christ who is with us always, no matter what tempests may arise.36 Our time is in the hands of God:
It is possible to offer fervent prayer even while walking in public or strolling alone, or seated in your shop, . . . while buying or selling, . . . or even while cooking.37
2744 Prayer is a vital necessity. Proof from the contrary is no less convincing: if we do not allow the Spirit to lead us, we fall back into the slavery of sin.38 How can the Holy Spirit be our life if our heart is far from him?
Nothing is equal to prayer; for what is impossible it makes possible, what is difficult, easy. . . . For it is impossible, utterly impossible, for the man who prays eagerly and invokes God ceaselessly ever to sin.39
Those who pray are certainly saved; those who do not pray are certainly damned.40
2745 Prayer and Christian life are inseparable, for they concern the same love and the same renunciation, proceeding from love; the same filial and loving conformity with the Father's plan of love; the same transforming union in the Holy Spirit who conforms us more and more to Christ Jesus; the same love for all men, the love with which Jesus has loved us. "Whatever you ask the Father in my name, he [will] give it to you. This I command you, to love one another."41
He "prays without ceasing" who unites prayer to works and good works to prayer. Only in this way can we consider as realizable the principle of praying without ceasing.42Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12815449256742930541noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038207951426384277.post-23410471698535692442012-04-27T18:25:00.003-07:002012-04-27T18:25:44.095-07:00Carrying the Cross<blockquote>I have discovered Catholic radio, specifically EWTN on Sirius. It it so worth it.
Anyhow, listening on my way home today, to Greg Willits of The Catholics Next Door, and he was preparing to pray the Sorrowful mysteries, in particular, he was meditating on the Carrying of The Cross.
Simon of Cyrene was just your average pilgrim. Probably in Jerusalem for Passover with his kids. He doesn't want to bear this cross for this guy he doesn't even know. He's from the country. Just came to celebrate. What is going on here!?
Greg suggested sometimes WE are also called to carry or help shoulder anothers burden. We don't want to but we too, are pressed into service. Perhaps it makes their burden just that much easier to bear.
Maybe it is a sick loved one or troubled friend or family member. God places us in the path and presses us into service.
Maybe it is even someone we don't know.
Who will you be Simon for today? Who will be your Simon?

We are putting together a show modeled off of Saturday Night Live. It's hilarious to see it come together, but man! It's hard, tedious work to edit 22 clips and add sounds, music, stills, etc. I can't wait to see the finished product.
Now I understand why these movie folks get paid the big bucks. Editing is long and tough. Cut this, keep that.
I hope the kids like what we've done with their work.
In the meantime, my 4 are involved in a week long Missoula Children's Theater experience. Their live show is on Saturday and they've been in rehearsals for 5 hours a day since Monday. I'm exhausted.

I feel like it's been ages since I was here and even longer since I had something worth saying. Not that I have anything worth saying, but I've missed you ol' friends.
This June we will be without cable or satellite t.v. for one year. It's been a blessing in that so much useless commercialism and oversexed advertisements have been removed from our lives. However, the other day my hubby purchased a digital converter box, ya know, so he could watch the "news". I think he was getting the flippin' itch. The itch to flip. You can't quite flip with Netflix or hulu. So he's got his remote and he can flip through all 5 of the local channels. It makes him happy, unfortunately though, it has also brought the return of commercials. I don't miss them. In fact, we sat down to watch The Celebrity Apprentice last Sunday night. There were 45 minutes of commercials in a two hour show. Ridiculous. We watched it on hulu this week. Hulu does have commercials, but they are no where near the yuck factor of some on what passes for t.v. these days.
So it's nice to sit and blog a bit. It's been a long time coming, as the title says. I started nosing around my old blog haunts and realized I missed it. So now that El Bambino is on a nightly schedule of sleep, I should have some time to chat with ya'll every now and then. Well, at least until September when Bambino II comes along :) God Willing.
Love ya'll and I look forward to sharing my itsy bitsy life with you once more.

I created a group of thespians, The Liberty Players, from our home educated co op and we have been working on our latest production, <a href="http://www.pioneerdrama.com/SearchDetail.asp?PC=LASTSTOPTI">Last Stop Till Christmas</a>. In one month, rehearsing once a week, these kids have made me so proud! They had their first performance last night and were simply amazing! <br />
<br />
Our group consists of grades K-12. We opened with an Olio, a short 5-10 min performance, before our feature. The youngest among us, popped in and out of our family Christmas scene with Christmas jokes and merriment. The older kids sang Jingle Bells in the background. It was Laugh-in inspired. Funny, heart warming and awesome!<br />
<br />
Then came the feature. A comedy about narcisism and self sacrifice. Giving of oneself inspires you to give to others. Their timing was on and the show was a hit! I can't tell you how much these kids truly inspire me. They drive me crazy too. They stuck with me, through venue changes, scene changes, horrible blocking and re-blocking..and re-blocking..and some more re-blocking and they pulled it all off on show night!<br />

Hence, the name of my blog. I began by posting about opportunities to volunteer and charities to volunteer for. My blog has since evolved into something of a family chronicle with, what I hope to be, an authentic Catholic tone. In The Church and New Media, Brian Vogt has brought together 11 of the most forward thinking and acting Catholic internet users to show us that we can use this "new media" not just to rant about the current political situation or show off family photos. We can use this "new media" to spread the Gospel in a highly effective way. We can reach thousands..even millions of people with just one blog post.<br />
<br />
Your post, tweet or status update can travel around the world in seconds. Your words can literally bring the living water of Christ to people you will never see or meet. What's even better is that today, you might get to meet them! Blogger conventions and facebook has enabled us to connect with other Catholics in unprecedented ways. <br />
<br />
Jesus told his disciples to cast their nets wide..that he would make them fishers of me. We too, are his disciples and we too must heed that call. <br />
<br />
If you blog, facebook or tweet. If you Youtube or Vimeo. It is your choice to use them to glorify yourself or to glorify God. This book can help you discover new ways to use them to glorify God! To fill your nets for Christ and to increase your faith and the faith of others. Get it. Read it. Pass it to your priest. Tell everyone you know about it..tweet it. Facebook it. Youtube it. Blog it.<br />

I have seen all three things this week! Well, maybe not the Saint. I did watch a television show about Mother Teresa. And of course, I talked to my good friend <a href="http://www.harborofaloha.blogspot.com">Sarah</a>. She <span style="font-style:italic;">will be</span> a saint, I'm sure!<br />
<br />
This last Sunday, our new priest,Father Joe, was installed as our pastor. I've never seen a ceremony like this and it was very nice. He promised to take care of us and we promised to support him. This was important because we need to be reminded that he is our Priest. Our Pastor. We need to support him so that he can take care of us. Two way street. He's not only a good priest, he's super funny and we are very blessed to have him as our pastor.<br />
<br />
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CZPKukQmpcY/Tq_jLbf3ZdI/AAAAAAAAAbU/i4vohbVXpag/s1600/003.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 182px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CZPKukQmpcY/Tq_jLbf3ZdI/AAAAAAAAAbU/i4vohbVXpag/s320/003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670000241382221266" /></a><br />
<br />
So I talked about the saints already..Mother Teresa, Sarah..we are all called to be one! Today is the Feast of All Saints. It's a Holy Day of Obligation. Which means get to Mass today. Make the time. It's important. We celebrate our Church today! Sometimes, at Mass, I can almost see the Saints in Heaven celebrating with us. A good friend and teacher said, there is a thin veil between us and Heaven. It's hard to see through for us. Sometimes it clears..and we can see. The Sanctus is what brings this home for me.<br />
<br />
Now for the part you've been waiting for! Scorpions? Yep. Scorpion, to be exact. Just one. Small, but frightening still. In my school room. I though the kids were joking. I was just at the computer entering in grades..I was just sitting there. My BARE FOOT was just where that dern creature is crawling right now!!! We got a jar, the kids had a good look, then promptly left him on the porch...in the jar. He didn't make the overnight temps. I'm not sad. I don't EVER want to see one of those again! Scary.<br />
<br />
Off to teach some drama..20 kids..a Christmas production! Busy Busy! <br />

No sooner did I click on "New Post", El Bambino started crying. I swear that boy has some kind of telekinetic thing going on. He knows. I mean it. He KNOWS! So, he's up there crying now..getting madder and madder. I suppose my time is up. Oh, my three things!<br />
<br />
1. I'm in the process of reading a book to review here. On the Church and New Media. It's very good. I really like it. <br />
2. I want to blog more about my faith. That's coming. Not sure where God will lead me on that one. Adoration is key.<br />
3. I want to just plain blog more. Anyone out there with teens, tweens and babies have tips and tricks to find time to blog when there is no time? Help!<br />
<br />
If you didn't know...Jesus waits for you silently in the Tabernacle. Go visit with him in Adoration. Even if you are not Catholic. He wants you there. With all your baggage, with all your kids and with all your love. One hour that will change your life. Guaranteed.</blockquote>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12815449256742930541noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038207951426384277.post-88773521760778792322011-10-14T11:37:00.000-07:002011-10-14T11:37:40.907-07:00Have You Met Temple?<blockquote>No, not the religious one. Temple Grandin. The Scientist.<br />
A hidden gem in the vast archives of my Netflix account. I was intrigued by the cover. <br />
<br />
A story based on the real life of an autistic woman who becomes one of the top scientists in the humane livestock handling industry. <br />
<br />
It begins with Temple on the verge of college and quite happy to remain in highschool. Her desire to be a scientist and also to be with animals, and a supportive high school science teacher spur her on to college. A mother who is beyond patient and full of love for her child who is "different, but not Less" makes this movie heart wrenching but not a tear jerker. Temple's straight forwardness is refreshing and quite often humurous, keeping things light. <br />
<br />
Rated PG. One instance of the word "dammit", a scene of bloody bull testicles used to frighten Temple, a scene where masturbation is subtly implied in question. I would recommend for pre teens and older. Great story of the value and preciousness of all life.<br />
<br />
Check it out. I'd love to hear your thoughts.<br />

FOR TODAY September 29, 2011 <br />
<br />
Outside my window...people are beginning to stir and the business of getting ready to head to work and school as begun. I can hear the rumble of my husbands motorcycle, it drowns out all other sounds.<br />
<br />
I am thinking...about our fieldtrip today. We are visiting <a href="http://south-carolina-plantations.com/aiken/redcliffe.html">Redcliffe Plantation.</a> I am excited because I love history and historical things. I am a visual learner and trips like this are always fun for me.<br />
<br />
I am thankful for...this day! Our priest reminds us that every day is a good day because we are alive to live it. Amen brother! I mean, Father!<br />
<br />
From the learning rooms... We had to put the brakes on Saxon Adv Math. Reverse and begin again. 12th grade is hard man! Can I get a pass dude? <br />
<br />
In the kitchen...My daughter made Mexican Wedding cookies last night. Delicious. We need to work on her cleanup skills...I can see some powdered sugar foot prints in the kitchen. She was covered in the stuff yesterday. <br />
<br />
I am wearing...In my work out gear. Still walking and running the 10 mile a week challenge. I have to run tonight though, the fieldtrip is pretty early, so I won't have time for a run. <br />
<br />
I am wondering...why is sugar so der goooood?!?!?<br />
<br />
I am reading...got rid of SK..scared me. Reading Dante now. Different kind of scary. <br />
<br />
I am hoping...God sends us a Presidential candidate that will be good for this country.<br />
<br />
I am looking forward to...coffee! Yum!<br />
<br />
I am hearing...the kids playing and singing as they prepare for their days..someobe just turned on Nanny 911.<br />
<br />
Around the house...put a ceiling fan in the kitchen. I love it! Keeps the kitchen much cooler.<br />
<br />
A few plans for the rest of the week:get my 10 miles in. Become proficient in advanced mathematics. Yeah.<br />

FOR TODAY September 14, 2011 <br />
<br />
Outside my window...it is dark. It is that curious time when light has not yet touched the horizon, yet the night creatures have stopped their songs. <br />
<br />
I am thinking...About how dern selfish I can be. It is good that God puts people in my life that help me see around myself. <br />
<br />
I am thankful..for the gift of examination of conscience. <br />
From the learning rooms...We are into week 3 and doing well. I am worried more than I should be about my sons upcoming SAT. I am trying hard not to put my anxiety on him. <br />
<br />
In the kitchen...I am making Sunday Gravy today. Using the recipe from The Soprano's cook book..I've made it before and it's delish. It's an all day affair.<br />
<br />
I am wearing...In my work out gear. I walk every weekday morning with my neighbor and this week I have started my 10 miles a week challenge. I get home from walking and run two miles on the treadmill. I love the way it feels to push my body to the limit. <br />
<br />
I am creating...I need to do school pics this week. oh, and still organizing those photos from last daybook. <br />
<br />
I am going...Today is Mass day. I am looking forward to it. <br />
<br />
I am wondering...if I want to volunteer for our ladies group regional board. I've been asked and am discerning. pray for me. <br />
<br />
I am reading...Still working on Motherless. Picked up Stephen King's Just After Sunset and I know that will drag me in. He had me at the intro. <br />
<br />
I am hoping...El Bambino naps today. (Will this ever change?)<br />
<br />
I am looking forward to...the sunrise and Mass. <br />
<br />
I am hearing...the baby is crying. In fact, he's pretty mad. I suppose I should go get him.<br />
<br />
Around the house...laundry day.<br />
<br />
One of my favorite things...my coffee cup. My sister gave it to me years and years ago. It's from one of her first duty stations, Diego Garcia. I love it.<br />
<br />
A few plans for the rest of the week: Adoration, youth choir practice, lector training tonight. Airport field trip tomorrow. Conference planning meeting on Friday. Kids youth choir retreat on Saturday. Pro-life rosary making on Saturday. Lots to do..lots to do. Have a great week ya'll!<br />

<br />
FOR TODAY September 5, 2011 <br />
<br />
Outside my window...it is light, but not bright. Overcast. We had much needed rain overnight. You can still hear the foliage begging for more though. <br />
<br />
I am thinking...Typing on the iPad is bad for my typing skills. I have grown used to two finger typing. The iPad can be useful for many things. Typing is not one of them. <br />
<br />
I am thankful...gosh! For everything. Good brisket. We had that for dinner last night. It was a delicious meal made better because I found that piece of brisket for only 7$! It was small, but just enough for all of us. <br />
<br />
From the learning rooms...The kids are on day 3, or so, of week one. We are On a tight schedule this year. Each kid has their own daily sched and I am grading papers over coffee each morning. I am determined to stay on top of things this year. I have a senior this year and I have no udea what to do to get him in college, so I will be doing research on that in the next few days. This is where a guidance counselor works out nicely. Oh well. I guess that's just another job I need to learn. <br />
<br />
In the kitchen...I have moved all appliances, but the coffeemaker, off the counters. What a difference! I have scaled back on dishes and pots and pans. Keeping only what we use daily and a few more roasting/ baking pans for when I have guests and need more cookware. <br />
I am loving the uncluttered look. <br />
<br />
I am wearing...Still in pj's. Got up late and missed my am walk.. Feeding the baby now, and then I will change and head out while the kids are working. <br />
<br />
I am creating...not really creating, but since I've given up on scrapbooking in my efforts to declutter, I am working on putting all my loose pictures into photo albums. I just discovered some more loose ones in my room, so I need to work on that after lunch. <br />
<br />
I am going...no where. Well, wherever God sends me, but I have no plans. <br />
<br />
I am wondering...why my little guy does not sleep through the night. I feed him full, burp him, put im down around 1130 pm but he's up at 1 am and the. 3 am..like he's starving. We tried some solids, but that has constipated him so we are back on bmilk only. A friend suggested he's just high maintenance. Ugh. <br />
<br />
I am reading...The Importance of Being Ernest, Motherless and Please Don't Drink the Holy Water. I like the first one. Motherless lacks cohesiveness and believable characters and PDDTHW is just drivel in my opinion. <br />
<br />
I am hoping...El Bambino naps today. <br />
<br />
I am looking forward to...my morning walk. <br />
<br />
I am hearing...the kids laugh and giggle in the schoolroom. Do they think I can't hear them? <br />
<br />
Around the house...dust dust dust. <br />
<br />
I am pondering...the meaning of dust. <br />
<br />
One of my favorite things...El Bambino. <br />
<br />
A few plans for the rest of the week: take care of the dust and keep my sanity. How bout ya'll? <br />

I am in the process of laundry..started a list on the fridge of items we ran out of..the kids have been pretty bad about letting me know when things run out..so we started a list. They are learning a lesson..didn't tell me we had run out of dishwasher soap..so they have to wash by hand. ( I help dry and put away). It's a good lesson. Now I just can't forget the dern list when I go shopping :)<br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">I am pondering...</span>Just how I am going to pay for school. This summer has been hard on the finances..we still have lots to pay off and utilities are killing us. We cut T.V, so that's an extra 60 a month. The next to go is regular phone. I don't really need it, since we both have cells. However, it's bundled with internet. So I need to research and find the best deal for internet and cell. Get rid of landline. <br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">One of my favorite things...</span>Adoration<br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">A few plans for the rest of the week:</span>I need to make some more flyer's for the neighborhood meeting next week. Begin preparations for our trip north. Take the boys to our Diocesan vocations camp. Finish the laundry. :)<br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">Here is picture for thought for the day..</span><br /><br />"Hey baby.."<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl-p3QSOMetnSMMcKVvsDUlC8eh9waEvFO9RQpWjLlOAnjXy_5pkz1cKPVlFK1z_DpT6Ew7e5a1XEHSJ2tpebiBNIVvc2-S8sYaopff9s4ZJDft2OGBupa6SyFHKxgkBIOMu1wT7NIFb0e/s1600/005.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl-p3QSOMetnSMMcKVvsDUlC8eh9waEvFO9RQpWjLlOAnjXy_5pkz1cKPVlFK1z_DpT6Ew7e5a1XEHSJ2tpebiBNIVvc2-S8sYaopff9s4ZJDft2OGBupa6SyFHKxgkBIOMu1wT7NIFb0e/s320/005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633684061765952418" /></a><br /><br /></blockquote>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12815449256742930541noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038207951426384277.post-39403891095872630662011-07-12T09:17:00.000-07:002011-07-12T09:22:36.208-07:00Vegetables and God<blockquote>I love Veggie Tales. I love Larry the Cucumber. I love silly songs with Larry, like Dance of the Cucumber, Where is my Hairbrush..I love the episode about Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego (sp?) The bunny song is great. <br /><br />I just discovered El Bambino likes Veggie Tales too! During a recent mini meltdown, big sister put on VT and, like magic, full scale meltdown avoided! <br /><br />Thanks Larry and Bob! I love ya!</blockquote>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12815449256742930541noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038207951426384277.post-4666461881711642402011-06-29T03:50:00.000-07:002011-06-29T10:50:30.739-07:00Fabulous Photography From a Friend<blockquote>How's that for alliteration! I wanted to tell you about a good friend of mine from highschool. Back then he stuck out because of his skater haircut and grunge clothes.
