Send Him a Note

and tell him to stop endangering our troops! This Pastor out of Florida wants to burn Koran's on the anniversary of 9/11. He's got his reasons, his website details them. He's also been warned by Gen Petraeus and others, that this type of protest is particularly bad for our troops in Afghanistan. It is just what the Taliban is looking for to incite more violence against Americans.

Afghanistan does not need MORE violence. Just the other day 5 soldiers, one a military chaplain, were killed. It is already volatile enough. I get the pastors desire to "stand up". But not when you begin to endanger others who are fighting for your very freedom to do so.

I'm not a sympathizer for the other guys. It just irks me when someone knowingly continues with behavior that directly endangers our troops.

If you agree, you can send him an email on his church website Dove World Outreach Center or a letter at

The Shame of Disney

Oh brother! The stench that comes out of Hollywood just keeps getting stinkier. If that's possible. Big Hollywood reports that Disney is searching for, what seems to be elusive in Hollywood, "real breasts."

Disney is searching for real treasure chests for its upcoming shoot of the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” swashbuckler — that is, women with natural breasts.

and it just gets worse, read more...

Just another brick in the wall

"I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate," Obama said.

-For someone who doesn't worry about the procedures, Obama is quite adept at skirting around them.

"By the time the vote has taken place, not only I will know what's in it, you'll know what's in it because it's going to be posted and everybody's going to be able to evaluate it on the merits," he said

-Shouldn't he know what's in it BEFORE the vote? This is one of those slick underhanded jobs..even if we get the truth on the bill..there is no dern vote in the house 'cause Obama/Pelosi have already agreed to pass it without a VOTE. Oh..and what if we don't like it and it's "merits"?

Things are looking dark my friends. Dark, indeed.

The Superbowl Ad

Okay..I've been watching the news and listening to the news all weekend. Much talk has centered around the "controversial" Tim Tebow ad.

The ad shows Tim's mom talking about her experience in choosing life and the obvious results of that choice.

Feminist liberal groups like NOW are up in arms, saying the ad is divisive and attacks a woman's right to choose. Whatever, they either can't afford their own ad or they really can't counter this one. What are they gonna do? To make an equally effective ad for their side they'd have to show women or a woman talking about how her choice to abort her child was awesome and she's so much better for it. Um....probably won't go over too well.

The thing that got me going was that all the "pundits" seem to be focusing on the wrong idea. Someone asked why show it during the Superbowl. The Superbowl is primarily a male audience. I say why not? Men make the decisions to abort or not, as well as the woman. Since when did a woman create a life on her own? Why shouldn't men be informed and able to "choose"? If they get to pony up the dough to do the deed than they should be demanding some say in the matter. The best question I heard was why not show it during the oscars? The host said, come on! No one watches the oscars! ;) That at least made me laugh.

One "news" show begins by talking about Tebow's Christianity. How's he's so great for talking about it and living it. Okay, wonderful. But again, you don't have to be Christian to be pro-life. This is not about religion. This is about life. A life. A baby. Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Hindu, whatever..as HUMANS we should all be concerned about the life of an unborn child being snuffed out.

By taking the focus off the baby, the media, even those conservatives who probably don't realize what they are doing, are trivializing the entire issue. Perhaps it's just simply about a life. A child who may not have been here IS here. Because his mother(for whatever reason) chose not to have an abortion and the result is this wonderful human being, who by the way happens to be fabulous at football and not so hard on the eyes.

State of the Union

I did watch the State of the Union(SOTU) last night. Much has been said about it, good and bad. I wasn't watching it for any "political" reasons. I didn't expect much "change" in what Obama was going to say. Folks were pondering whether or not he would lean towards the "center". I don't think he could do that now without making himself look fake.

Which is why I decided to post on this. Like I said, I didn't watch it for political reasons. I don't expect him to change is ideologies overnight or because of one lost Senate seat. I watched because I was "hoping" to see the "man". The person. Barack Obama. I have a title on my sidebar.."Just who is this guy?" The talk of him being disconnected from the American people is spot on.

It really irked me that he only looked at the "American People" once during his 70 minute speech. His head swivels left and right..but never at us. The viewers. Hey! Aren't you talking to us? I wondered. So I decided to do a little research on past SOTU addresses. I watched addresses by the last 4 Presidents. G.W, Clinton, G.H.W.B and Reagan. They all addressed congress in the "left to right" fashion. Okay, so I was feeling like I was just blowing it out of proportion. Still, something bothers me about Obama's addresses. I continued to watch these other presidents and realized it's not where they look that made me interested. It was the way they said what they said. Even Clinton, of whom I am no fan, had a character to his voice that made you listen. Last night, I had trouble keeping my eyes open during Obama's address and I noticed even good ol' Harry Reid had to stifle a yawn. Obama is boring. In my opinion, his voice lacks any quality of character. The only reason I sat up in my seat was to keep from falling asleep.

Lots of folks have lauded him on his speech abilities, but I beg to differ. He doesn't sound, to me, like he is genuine. Like he really means it.

Okay. These are just my observations. Whatever your political affiliation, I think both sides of the aisle were having trouble staying awake and interested. Where is his character? What am I not seeing that this guy supposedly has? I don't see charisma or charm like Clinton, "fatherly wisdom" like Reagan or even good ol' southern determination like G.W. Does it even matter? I think it does. We need a reason to trust this guy and instead of giving me a warm fuzzy that our great Country is on the rise, I get the heebie jeebies when I think of whose in charge.

Your thoughts?

While you were sleeping...ADDED: Links

Once again, under cover of darkness, another deal has been struck. Labor Unions got a bribe, excuse me, deal that will secure their vote for Obamacare.

Now that you've had your coffee and your eyes are opened, take a looksee...

Politico
Huffington Post
Newsmax
Wall Street Journal

Guess who'll be picking up the slack...you and me. Another deal done in darkness sheds much light on this administration.

Isaiah 1:23 Your rulers are rebels And companions of thieves; Everyone loves a bribe And chases after rewards. They do not defend the orphan, Nor does the widow's plea come before them. (NIV)

UPDATE:
Some more links for your perusal.

From Peggy Noonan:
The real story is that his rhetorical and iconic detachment are harped on because they reflect a deeper disconnect, the truly problematic one, and that is over policy. It doesn't really matter how he sounds. It matters, in a time of crisis, what he does. That's where the lack of connection comes in. more...

From Karl Rove:
Americans learned last year that President Obama discards campaign promises like most people discard used Kleenex. Among the pledges he cast aside were reducing the deficit, reining in federal spending, not allowing lobbyists to work in his administration, increasing taxes only on those who make more than $250,000, and opposing "government-run health care" because it is "extreme." more...

What's he up to now?

While the media and talking heads were worrying about Harry Reid and his negro comment, President Obama was quietly signing yet another executive order.

This one to establish a Council of Governors.
When appointed, the Council will be reviewing such matters as involving the National Guard of the various States; homeland defense; civil support; synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States; and other matters of mutual interest pertaining to National Guard, homeland defense, and civil support activities.

I am in the midst of researching this and it's not very easy to find info on it. What does it mean for America? For our military forces? Why do this without letting the American people know?

Why does this administration wag the dog? I don't want to inspire any "conspiracy" theories, but come on? What's going on in that White House? If it looks like a fish, smells like one..well, it just might be one and the American People are going to find out too late.

Have you heard of it? I need some great thinkers out there to help explain this one.

I am sick and tired...

of the current news. I don't know about you, but it is so dark and down and depressing. I am one who usually watches the news (fox, cnn, nbc, abc, cbs) and reads all the "online papers" (wsj, nyt,) and keeps up with current political blogs and websites. I do this because I want to be informed. Lately, however, I don't want to be informed. I don't want to hear it anymore. All I hear and see are lies, infidelities, murders and crap crap crap. Ugh. I can't even make sense of the political junk that's been going on. It's so disappointing. I am truly sickened by the state of affairs of our government. It's disgusting. As an American I demand much better than this. I demand a President and a Congress that takes things seriously, that cares much more about it's citizens than does this current parcel of idiots.

We can't even get our President to wear a dern tie (I know it sounds trivial, but it matters!). For goodness sake, they've made him into a Chia pet. Ugh.

Our "leaders" in Congress are so bold as to tell us to our faces that they don't give a crap what we think and we are expected to take it. It's just ridiculous. I certainly hope that a better kind of people step up to the plate this November. I will vote. That's the kind of "change" we need. Professionals. People who know what they are doing and do it well. Not pandering jokesters who are drunk with their own power and recklessly plow through the Constitution without a cop in sight.

Your thoughts?

For Shame!

It is because this child can be destroyed as a "choice",

that this child's mother "chooses" to destroy her.

It is disgraceful, shameful and disgusting, the lack of respect for Life in this country. There is no difference between Shaniya Davis' five year old life outside the womb and the 5 week old baby's life inside the womb. When will America see that the destruction of children, of life, at any stage is abhorrent!

Liturgial Renewal almost complete

Thanks to Catholic Knight for posting this.

The U.S. Catholic Bishops have launched a new website to help American Catholics study the new text for the 3rd Edition Roman Missal.

I encourage you to read and study these texts as part of your spiritual reading. The changes are beautiful, especially to the Eucharistic prayers.

Check it out below...implementation could come in 2010.

Oh No..It's O!

The whole email collection program is ground to a halt. So says the Great O. Obama that is. I can't even call him President anymore. In the words of one famous black woman "It ain't fittin', It just ain't fittin'."

So many mistakes, so little time.

He does not seem Presidential to me. The way he speaks, the way he walks, the way he looks and dresses. He commands no respect. Regardless of his policies (which I don't even think are his), he's got no class. I think he's trying to play to the Hollywood, pop culture, easy laid back guy but that's not working.

There are still folks out there who love him, in some weird way, they continue to be caught up in the campaign high days. I liken it to beer goggles. If they sober up they'd see him for what he really is. Just a guy who should have never been President, simply because....he has no clue what he's doing. It's never fun to wake up and realize your mistake.

Mr. Pinch Goes To Parris Island

Well, okay, not the real Parris Island, but she is on her way to Young Marine bootcamp this morning. Her first day. She is so excited! She looks so cute in her red shorts and white t-shirt. Her hair is in a neat bun.

She keeps yelling "Semper Five delis"! The other kids are constantly correcting her, "Semper Fidelis"! They yell back.

I am not going with her. Honestly, I can't bear to watch her get yelled at. My husband says "You yell at her all the time..what's the difference?" He smiles. It just IS! She's my baby..my little one..she's just too darn cute to yell at. Ach!..what if she cries..I'd go to pieces.

Okay, okay. She's gone. Nothing to do about it now. She can fend for herself! She's strong! She's ready. She's just 8!

I love these kids..I love the way they have rallied around her to help her memorize the Young Marine obligation, to do facing movements, stand at attention and sing The National Anthem. She is learning love of her country, pride in service and self-respect. Being a military family it's hard not to be patriotic. I still get goose bumps when I stand for The National Anthem. We stand for the National Anthem, even when we hear it on T.V. It's our anthem. It's our country.

I remember very clearly, the first time I had to salute the flag during my own bootcamp. It was very early, 5 am. We were on the grinder at Naval Training Center Orlando, in formation. 80 girls. We were not yet women. The National Anthem comes over the loudspeaker and the flag begins to rise up into the morning sky. I remember being filled with so much emotion it brought tears to my eyes.

I am very proud to have served my country. I am very proud to support my husband as he heads off every day to do his best to protect it. My father, mother, sister and brother, have all taken on the responsibility of protecting this great nation.

Now, watching my children, I am very proud of them. They are learning what it means to be patriotic. To love their country. To make a personal choice to never bring disgrace or dishonor on their God, their country and it's flag, their parents or themselves.

God Bless America! And my children too!

If This Had Been Bush...

he would have been labeled a liar and a miscreant for creating numbers off the top of his head and using invalid data.

We need to keep a watchful eye on what is going on in the dark corners of the halls of the White House and the Capitol. Do not fall asleep because the news seems boring or light. All of these little tidbits fit together to form one larger picture and that picture is not pretty.

Obama uses old data in his speech on bankruptcy and medical costs.

Absolutely Absurd Action of Abortion Advocates

American Papist: Not Your Average Catholic!: Video: The outrageous case of Pastor Hoye

Utterly unbelievable. Support Mr. Hoye and his family as he goes through this difficult time. As one of the commenters on California Catholic Daily posted: "In the not too distant future, it may be you on trial".

You can leave him a message of support at his Facebook site.
