I recently went over 10,000 visitors to my blog and I wanted to say Thank You to all my readers. If it wasn't for your readership I might be stuck doing the laundry! :)
So, in honor of my 10,000 visitors I am giving away my copy of "Fatherless" by Brian J. Gail.
Meticulously researched, brilliantly crafted, Fatherless takes the reader on an unforgettable journey inside Fortune 500 boardrooms and Madison Avenue screening rooms, behind one-way mirrors in America’s heartland and two-way screens in church confessionals, to the very peak of Ireland’s highest mountain and inside the papal dining room of John Paul II in Rome.
You can gain entries by:

2) Link to this giveaway post and leave a comment letting me know
3) Inform yourselves about the truth of oral contraceptives, share this
information with a woman or girl you care about and leave a
comment about your experience
Please feel free to leave a comment, even if you own this book already, and share your experience with oral contraceptives.
I will draw the winner at 8 pm Eastern standard time on the 31st of May.
This year, on Mother's Day, the Pill celebrated 50 years of deception and destruction. Janet Smith wrote an excellent article at OSV, check it out if you haven't read it yet. As you can see by my sidebar, I've gathered info on this so called "wonder" drug and it's harmful effects on the women who take it. Of which I was one for quite a few years. Women of our time have been duped. Royally. If you are currently on the pill or patch or NORPLANT or take Depo shots, I encourage you to take a moment and do some research on what it is you are doing to your body. The doctors and counselors won't tell you. If you are considering putting your daughter on this medication please do the research first. Read the little insert that comes with that cute little packet of pills. Google the side effects and the history. It will be time well spent and may even save a life. Yours. Or your daughters.
This subject is touchy, I know. I didn't want to hear it either. I googled The pill and breast cancer and found page after page of medical studies done that prove there is an increased risk, especially for those young women who are using oral contraceptives before their first pregnancy. The distributors of oral contraceptives and even the big Pink ribbon folks, Susan G. Komen foundation, refuse to acknowledge these studies. If they do acknowledge them, they downplay their significance. The scientists conducting the studies are not affiliated with any certain religion, they are not doing "moral" studies. These are scientific facts that the big guys are denying. They don't want you to stop taking the pill. They don't want you to know the truth. Consider this, if you went to the doctor and they prescribed you medication would you not ask what the side effects were? Would you say, "okay doc, whatever." Even more so, would you ask if the medicine was for your child?
Learn. Inform yourselves, family members and friends. Do not be afraid.
Whaddya Say?

MmmmMmmm Peanut Butter
I got him! The mouse I mean. Over the last few weeks we noticed we had a new neighbor in our back yard. Mr. Mouse was after my birdseed and has been getting bolder and bolder. Yesterday morning as I was enjoying my coffee, said Mr. Mouse, sat on my pool box watching me. I had moved the birdseed that he had so nicely decimated and he was on the search for it. He even was so bold as to stand on the sill of my window and look in. That did it for me. I told him "I'm gonna get you you little son of a biscuit eater."
And I did. I was actually surprised to hear the click of the trap last night. I didn't think he'd be caught so easily. Sure enough, this morning the little son of a biscuit eater has gone on to the nether world with all the other little biscuit eaters. :)
Job done. Gotta love that peanut butter.

The Fruit of the Vine
Here's an update on my topsy turvy's.
The Cherry tomatoes..doing very well.
The strawberries. I have room for 6 more plants on this thing..but the budget did not allow. The green one in the picture is quite red this morning.
This is a beefsteak tomato..it's potted right now because I did not have TT when I planted. Can't wait to see how big they get in the pot. I need to miracle gro them again.
My middle son received his Confirmation this past weekend. We shall see what fruits he yields in God's time.

What Ticks You Off - A Review
I recently had the opportunity to listen to Jeff Cavins' new CD What Ticks You Off And How To Deal With It. Jeff makes use of the Epistle of James to help us understand that our dissatisfaction here on Earth is due to our endless search for happiness in people, places and things that are of this Earth and not in God where true peace and happiness are found.
Detailing the four levels of happiness - immediate gratification, personal achievement, serving others, and infinite love - Jeff helps us to recognize that only when we turn our earthly desires into heavenly ones, will we find the satisfaction and contentment we are searching for.
Using funny stories, real-life experiences and scripture, Jeff engages the listener and invites you to take a closer look at how you handle your passions and reactions to situations that you wish to avoid. It is too easy to fall prey to our desires for things of this world and we must always remember that our reward is not in this world but in the eternal realities of the next.

Show Choir
Our homeschool drama troupe performed Disney's Spectacular last night! They were phenomenal! I was so proud of all of them. They sang songs from Song of The South, Cinderella, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Jungle Book and Pinocchio. Due to copyright I can't post any video. :( There are some real stars in this group and it is just thrilling to see them come out of their shell and just shine!
As much as they drive me crazy, I love each and everyone of them dern kids!

Some Enchanted Evening...
Spent a wonderful evening with my hubby and his friends from work last night. It was my first spouse's social and I was a bit worried about going. I've been here for 2 years and have yet to meet anyone that he works with. The venue was beautiful, golf course country club, large veranda and a view of the course..the weather was great. Sun shining but not too hot. It made me feel good to be on his arm. He looked perfect in his choker whites. All "An Officer and a Gentleman" stuff. I told him he needed to run through the building and pick me up and carry me off :) We had a good laugh about that.
Some of the couples wanted to go out to eat afterward and we agreed to tag along. I am glad we did, I met some wonderful women at dinner. I am looking forward to seeing them again.
It was just nice to be back in a Navy atmosphere. The Army is great..but..it's difficult to be a Navy family on an Army post. It was nice to be on common ground.
